Internet software developers are responsible for all the directions in which the internet has grown. Also called appplications programmers, they answer the public's demand for sophisticated internet software. Strong programming and problem solving skills, the ability to deal with a rapidly changing technology and industry, and self motivation are required for this job. High school students need a background in math and science, especially computer science and business. Adding features to email (such as the ability to include video clips), providing live chat or conferencing on the Net, communcating with other developers, product testers, or marketing specialists, and developing an online "shoppng cart" that accumulates a user's purchases are all examples of some projects an internet software developer might tackle.
I might like to do this, if I ever learned programming. I'm good with math and science, and I love solving problems, so this would be pretty fun. Of course, there are other things I would rather do even more.
